| Col de Balme / Le Tour |

This area lies
above Le Tour, at 1480m the highest
village in the Chamonix valley. On the backside of the Tete
de Balme the new chairlift opens up a large area of off piste
and roll overs through trees.
From the bottom of the chairlift a 4x4 track can take you all the
way to the mountain village and train station of Vallorcine near
the Swiss border.
The perfect way to end the day, with an aprés-ski drink and
snack at the station restaurant the "Arrét Bougnete.

| Off
the lift system in Le Tour there are fields of off piste skiing which
are easily accessed and will take you back to the bottom of the lifts.

If
you are skiing the Le Tour - Vallorcine chairlift from the Tete de
Balme you can carry on further right from the top. This ski run will
lead through forests, deep bowls and eventually to a water reservoir
where you can take a 4x4 track or a walking track to the village.
This area can be prone to avalanches depending on the snow conditions.
Please consult weather and snow conditions before venturing into this
area.
