Les Grands Montets, Argentière, Chamonix Valley |

Les Grands Montets is the largest piste
skiing area in the Chamonix valley. An altitude 3300m and north,
north west aspect guarantees quality snow, even late into the season.
Some of the best skiing can be in May!
The shear size of the area, its vertical possibilities and high mountain atmosphere, place it in the Premier League of great ski resorts. There is enough off-piste skiing, accessible via the top station to bring the faithful back year after year. |

Montets has excellent parking facilities. A large area is available for cars and buses. |

seen some huge improvements. First, a new Bochard telecabine system
to replace the 'old eggs', followed by a new restaurant, snack bar,
and two large terraces. That was the end of 'the steps'. Finally for
the 2003/4 season, a new Herse high speed 6-pack chair lift replaced
the old two man chair. The new lift starts lower down and closer to
the telephique making access very easy. |
